Itinerary

Day 1 ARRIVAL, RIO: BEACHES AND SUGAR LOAF

Morning

Arrival at Galeão, Rio de Janeiro International Airport. Transfer to your hotel and assistance with check-in.

Enjoy some free time around your hotel and take the opportunity for a stroll on Copacabana beach. (Check-in available after 2pm or upon availability).

Afternoon

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of Rio’s iconic beaches, including Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.
Ride the cable car up the Sugarloaf Mountain where you will have a toast as the sun sets over the amazing scenery of Rio's background.

Day 2 RIO: THE CORCOVADO, CHRIST THE REDEEMER, SANTA TEREZA DISTRICT

Morning

Early in the morning, board the train on the rack railway up the Corcovado mountain. On reaching the peak of one of the most distinctive mountains in the world, you will get amazing scenic views of Rio and a close look at the majestic Christ the Redeemer statue, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Back in the city, visit the bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa with its unique architectural heritage and incredible cultural wealth.

Afternoon

Free afternoon. Relax at the beach, keep exploring the vibrant city or visit the modern Museum of Tomorrow (Museu do amanhã) and the Museum of Fine Arts (Museu Nacional de Belas Artes) (not included).

Evening

Free evening and overnight in Rio de Janeiro.

Day 3 RIO: HISTORICAL CENTER

Morning

After breakfast, take a walking tour in the historical center of Rio de Janeiro. Step back in time and learn about the city's vibrant life much like when Rio was still the capital of Brazil.

Afternoon

Free afternoon. Relax at the beach, keep exploring the vibrant city or visit the modern Museum of Tomorrow (Museu do Amanhã) and the Museum of Fine Arts (Museu Nacional de Belas Artes) (not included).

Evening

Free evening and overnight in Rio de Janeiro.

Day 4 FLIGHT TO FOZ DO IGUACU

Morning

Morning transfer to Rio de Janeiro's airport with assistance with check-in. Direct flight to Foz do Iguaçu (2 hours).

Afternoon

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu and assistance with check-in.

Evening

Free evening and overnight in Foz do Iguaçu.

Day 5 IGUAZU FALLS: ARGENTINA

After breakfast at your hotel, your morning tour will take you to the Argentinean side of Iguazu, where most of the falls are located. Walk along a series of boardwalks to catch spectacular views of the falls and the occasional monkeys and toucans that inhabit the nearby forest.
Your guide will take you through the three different itineraries to get a comprehensive view of the Falls: Upper Circuit, Lower Circuit and Trail to the Devil´s Throat.

Afternoon

The tour will end at the end of the afternoon.

Evening

Free evening and overnight in Foz do Iguaçu.

Day 6 IGUAZU FALLS: BRAZIL, FLIGHT TO LIMA

Morning

After breakfast, pick-up at your hotel to visit the Brazilian side of Iguazu National Park. This part of the park runs through a thicker forest with lusher vegetation, the waters of the falls are more rugged and louder than on the Argentinean side. A great opportunity for a close encounter with the local wildlife in an incredible environment.

Transfer to the airport of Foz do Iguazu, check-in and flight to Lima via Sao Paulo.  

Afternoon

Flight to Lima with a stopover in São Paulo.

Evening

Free evening in Lima.

Day 7 LIMA: BIKE TOUR IN BARRANCO BOHEMIAN AND ART DISTRICT

Morning

Meet with your tour guide and once equiped with your bike and helmet, set off to cycle the upmarket district of Miraflores. 

Ride along the 'Malecon' (the strand) passing by Larcomar, the huge iconic shopping center overlooking the ocean. 

20-minute down the waterfront and you will get to Barranco, the historic bohemian and romantic district, nowadays the hippest district in Lima often compared to SoHo.

Your ride will go past colorful street art along the way with a stop at the colorful Puente de los Suspiros (the Bridge of Sighs) before pedaling on to the district of Chorrillos (30 min) with a visit at the Salto del Fraile. If you're lucky, you might get to see the friar diving from the cliff.

Afternoon

After lunch, ride back to Miraflores (1 hour). 

End of the afternoon at leisure. Go shopping at Larcomar's mall, explore Barranco's boutiques or simply soak in the great ocean views.

Evening

Free evening. 

Overnight at your hotel in Lima.

Day 8 FLIGHT TO CUSCO, TRANSFER IN THE SACRED VALLEY

Morning

In the morning, transfer to Lima airport (45 min to 1 hour). 

Assistance for check-in, direct flight to Cusco (1 hour 15 min). 

Arrival in Cusco (11,152 ft - 3400 m) where you will be welcomed by your local guide.

Afternoon

Transfer to the Urubamba Valley also known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas (1 hour 30 min). 

The Sacred Valley is famous for its numerous archaeological sites, various activities and hiking trails. 

End of the afternoon at leisure to rest and enjoy the beautiful gardens of your hotel.

Day 9 SACRED VALLEY: PISAC RUINS AND MARKET, OLLANTAYTAMBO FORTRESS

Morning

In the morning, drive from your hotel to the village of Pisac (1 hour) famous for its Sunday market where many indigenous Quechua communities meet to sell and trade their goods. 

The rest of the week, the whole place is bustling with a large handicraft and souvenir market. You will have time to search for jewellery, ponchos, hats, traditional music instruments, ceramics, alpaca products and many other typical Andean crafts  (1 hour 30 min). 

Visit Pisaqa, Intihuatana, Q’allaqasa, and Kinchiracay. (1 hour 30 min). All 4 places are part of an Inca site on the nearby hill at an altitude of 10,980 feet (3345 m). 

The hill was shaped during Inca times by carving ingenious terraces that are still used for agriculture to this day. With military, religious, and agricultural structures, the site was an important and busy place for the Inca empire.

Afternoon

In the afternoon, transfer to Ollantaytambo, a fortified city built during the reign of Pachacutec, the most powerful Inca emperor. 

Explore this quaint settlement with an interesting orthogonal layout (30 min). 

Climb the Temple Hill known as the fortress to learn about the purpose of those inca constructions (1 hour 30 min). 

Transfer to your hotel in the Sacred Valley (45 min).

Day 10 MACHU PICCHU TOUR

Your passport is required to enter the Machu Picchu site. You have the option to get a 'Machu Picchu' stamp in your passport if you wish. 

Morning

Today might be THE day you have been expecting from the moment you landed on Peruvian soil as you will finally enter the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu. 

Your private guide will meet you and walk you to the bus station (5 min) to hop on a bus to the entrance of the archaeological site. 

Enjoy the impressive 20-minute drive up the hill to the Machu Picchu site at 7,972 feet (2430 m). The abandoned stronghold was rediscovered in 1911 by the American archaeologist Hiram Bingham, Macchu Picchu is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. 

Learn about every secret this ancient Inca citadel holds and grab every opportunity to take amazing photographs (3 to 4 hours).

Afternoon

Take the bus back to Aguas Calientes (20 min) and board the train back to Ollantaytambo (1 hour 30 min). 

Transfer to your hotel in Cusco (1 hour 30 min).

Day 11 HALF-DAY CUSCO CITY AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL TOUR, FREE AFTERNOON

Morning

In the morning, you will meet your guide for a city tour of Cusco including the visit of the Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral and the Korikancha, the original Temple of the Sun. 

Drive to the hills of Cusco to explore the archaeological sites of Sacsayhuamán, Q’enqo, PukaPukara and Tambomachay. 

Transfer back to your hotel or to the city centre (20 min).

Afternoon

Afternoon at leisure to explore the Spanish colonial city known to the Inca as the 'belly button of the world'. 

Stroll around numerous plazas, shops selling incredible art and crafts or visit the great Pre-Columbian Museum MAP (not included).

Evening

Free evening to discover Cusco's vibrant nightlife. We recommend the lively pisco bar La Republica del Pisco.

Day 12 LIMA HISTORICAL CITY-TOUR, DEPARTURE

Morning

In the morning, transfer to Cusco airport for your flight back to Lima (1 hour 15 min). 

Arrival at Lima airport, meet and greet with your local guide and transfer downtown (45 min) for a city tour. 

The city founded in 1535 by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro, still features many invaluable colonial buildings along the main square (the Plaza Mayor) and the nearby streets.

Afternoon

Discover Lima's Cathedral, the Government Palace and the San Francisco Convent among many other impressive colonial buildings. 

At the indicated time, transfer back to the airport for your international flight (45 min).
