After an unforgettable experience at a real Argentinean ranch where you will be able to ride horses like a real gaucho, you will board a flight for South America's most extreme environment, Patagonia.

Spending time in between El Calafate and El Chalten, your days will be filled with the most exciting kayak trips, glacier hikes, and day treks at the foot of the world's largest glaciers or gliding on cold waters in the shadow of impressive peaks.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Buenos Aires

Morning

Arrival at Ezeiza, Buenos Aires international airport.

Meet and greet with your local host, transfer to your hotel (45 min) and assistance with check in.

Buenos Aires Cycling Tour: History & Culture

Explore the historic neighborhoods of the Argentinean capital by bike and pedal your way through the Plaza de Mayo, the historic center, Puerto Madero, el Caminito, La Boca and San Telmo

After meeting on Avenue Hipólito Yrigoyen you will cycle towards the city center, with a stop at La Manzana de las Luces, where some of the oldest buildings in the capital testify of the country’s rich history of culture, politics and education.

At the emblematic Plaza de Mayo, learn about some of the most important events in the history of the Republic, from the founding of the city in the colonial era up till now.

Your tour will then take you to Puerto Madero, where millions have been invested to turn this long-abandoned area of Buenos Aires into the city’s most sought-after neighborhood and one of the most expensive real estate in Latin-America.

From there head towards the Reserva Ecológica Costanera Sur along the River Plate, where you will enjoy a hot ‘mate’ (Argentina’s traditional hot drink) together with some alfajores (Argentina’s famous cookie sandwich).

After this light snack you will cycle to La Boca with a stop at the Lezama Park, a place that conjures up many interesting stories.

Afternoon

Leave your bikes to walk around El Caminito, this picturesque and colorful part of the city with its quaint little streets and brightly painted houses.

Another short ride will take you to la Bombonera, the world-famous soccer stadium and on the way back from La Boca, you will go through the beautiful bohemian neighborhood of San Telmo, one of the oldest barrios in the city with its antiques shops and the Plaza Dorrego, a real Porteño square.

Your cycling tour will conclude once you loop back to the starting point (5 hours).

Day 2 Buenos Aires: Tigre & Tango

Morning

Pick up your bike at the meeting point in Palermo and cycle to the train station, where you will board a train to Tigre.

There you will ride to a local sailing club on the banks of the river where your kayak tour through the Delta will start.

Back on the mainland you will have a well-deserved lunch at a local restaurant, to fuel up for the journey back to Buenos Aires.

Afternoon

Your train ride will stop at La Lucila station, passing through residential areas along the banks of the River Plate.

There you will stop to visit the locals’ favorite parks, such as the Víal Costero and the Bosques de Palermo. (09h)

Evening

Spice up your evening with a Tango night out, an experience that no one should miss on their visit to Buenos Aires.

Indulge in a three-course dinner with an exciting tango performance, showcasing exceptional dancers accompanied by traditional pieces of the Argentinean musical genre.

Sit back and enjoy the show from the comfort of your seat at one of the historic tango houses in the city, where you will dine, sample excellent Argentinean wines and lose yourself in the passion of tango.

Day 3 Gaucho Party

Morning

In the morning, your English-speaking drive-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Buenos Aires to take you to the Estancia “Santa Susana”, a one-hour drive out of town.

Your activities during the day will include a tour of the facilities, an equestrian show and the opportunity for a short horse ride.

A traditional asado (barbecue) will be served for lunch including world-famous Argentinean grilled meats accompanied by a performance of traditional folk songs.

Afternoon

Drive back to your hotel in the afternoon with some leisure time in the capital.

Day 4 Arrival in Calafate

Morning

Morning transfer to Buenos Aires domestic airport and assistance with check-in (30min)

Direct flight to Calafate (3 hours 20 min).

Meet and greet with your local host, transfer to your hotel (25 min) and assistance with check-in.

Day 5 Kayaking & Glaciers

Morning

Morning transfer to Los Glaciares National Park (40 min).

Start with a short walk along the banks of Argentino Lake to get great views of the Perito Moreno glacier in the distance.

After crossing a footbridge over the lake's pristine waters, you will head to Perito Moreno Kayak Experience’s meeting point, located near the main parking area, where their friendly team will be waiting for you.

Once dressed with the equipment provided and the safety briefing attended, you will board your kayak and put your paddling skills to the test.

Do not worry, no past experience is necessary and your kayak guides will be there to assist and teach you how to glide on Argentino Lake's glacial water

Afternoon

From Los Templanos beach paddle out onto the lake and then straight towards the glacier.

Make the most of your time there, taking in the exceptional views of the north-facing side of the glacier with fantastic photo opportunities of this monumental block of expanding ice and learn lots of fun facts about the fascinating Perito Moreno area and Patagonia.

Transfer back to your hotel (40min)

Day 6 Minitrekking on the Perito Moreno Glacier

Morning

Morning transfer to Los Glaciares National Park (40 min).

Start your adventure at the Bajo de las Sombras pier, about 4 miles (6 km) before the Perito Moreno viewpoint. A 20-minute cruise across Lake Rico's glacial waters will take you to the south face of the imposing glacier

As you hop off the boat at the glacier's foot, your guides will equip you with crampons and show you how to hike on ice.

In addition to safety instructions, they will provide you lots of interesting facts about the local flora and wildlife as well as general notions of glaciology about Patagonia with special attention to the unique Perito Moreno, one of the world's rare glaciers that keeps expanding.

The hike on the glacier takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes to complete across the uneven ice surface that is firm and safe to walk on. Your expert guides will explore with you the many facets during this breathtaking adventure.

Depending on the time of the day, your box lunch will be handed before or after your hike.

Afternoon

You will also have one hour to view the glacier from a distant viewpoint either before or after your hike.

Transfer back to your hotel (40 min).

Day 7 Trekking in El Chaltén

Morning

Meet with your private driver who will take you to the bus terminal in order from where you will catch your bus to El Chalten.

Bus trip to El Chalten (3 hours).

Afternoon

Self-guided trek on the Laguna De los Tres trail: this exciting day-hike takes you to the foot of Mount Chaltén, a natural viewpoint close to the mythical slopes of Mount Fitz Roy and its surrounding granite peaks.

Day 8 Returning to El Calafate

Morning

Self guided trek to the Mirador del Torre trail: a short and easy hike through the valley of the Fitz Roy River to the famous panoramic viewpoint of Mount Solo, the Adela range and the Cerro Torre massif.

Afternoon

Transfer to the bus terminal (not included) and bus journey back to El Calafate (3 hours)

Transfer from the Bus Terminal to your hotel (10 min).
