Wildlife enthusiasts can’t miss this five-day Barra Mansa Lodge tour to South Pantanal. The Barra Mansa Lodge delivers a friendly atmosphere, inviting rooms, and superb traditional dishes in one of the most beautifully preserved regions of the world’s largest tropical wetland. With your expert guide, embark on hikes to see the narrow waterways, open marshes, and wooded forests that make up the Pantanal’s wild landscapes. Revel in the peace and quiet of this vast area and paddle in a three-seater Canadian canoe to observe the plants and aquatic birds that live here. On a Jeep safari tour and horseback riding session, journey to remote areas of the Pantanal that are otherwise difficult to access. Try your hand at sportfishing on the Rio Negro, and see if you can catch and release any piranhas, pintados, and pacus. Wake early to appreciate the excited chirps of birds in one of the world’s best birdwatching destinations. At the end of the tour, transfer to Campo Grande Airport for your onward journey.

Itinerary

Day 2 CANADIAN CANOE TRIP, JEEP SAFARI TOUR

Morning

After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to experience a Canadian canoe trip with your experienced guide alongside the bays of the farm. Guests will paddle in three-seater Canadian canoes and observe the nearest vegetation and waterfowl in the tranquil environment of the bay. During this moment, you will have the opportunity to feel as if you are in a peaceful bliss, accompanied by the harmonious sounds of the area, as well as the uplifting and warm colors of the beautiful Pantanal sunset.

Afternoon

After lunch, free time to rest at the Pousada.
Depart for another exceptional activity: A Jeep Safari tour that provides visitors with a more intimate contact with the wildlife. An excursion made in 4x4 vehicles with safari-style adjustments, this ride provides guests with an in-depth experience in the Pantanal as you make extremely close contact with animals and journey to remote areas of the renowned wetlands.

Day 3 HORSEBACK RIDING, BOAT TOUR

Morning

After breakfast, you will follow your experienced guide for Horseback Riding (2 to 3 hours): This is the most traditional way of becoming acquainted with the Pantanal. Visitors who choose this excursion are given the chance of exploring unique areas that are difficult to access, where it is common to witness the harmonious and dynamic life of cattle and wild fauna in their natural environment. On this tour, the horses walk peacefully, minding the experience of beginners and also to assure safety and comfort throughout the ride. Afternoon

After lunch, you will go with your guide for an adventurous activity in the afternoon: A boat tour!

The Negro River is considered the most beautiful and preserved river in the Pantanal, which offers beautiful landscapes that arrest the senses and mesmerize visitors as they venture into untouched areas in search for encounters with the diverse fauna and flora of the Pantanal.

Day 4 HIKING, SPORT FISHING

Morning

After breakfast, you will follow your experienced guide for another Hiking trip.
There are several trails that offer passages and landscapes that show the typical vegetation of the Pantanal: mountain ranges, woods, and waterways, which are home to a wide variety of animals and different species of plants in the region. During this walk you will be able to have an intimate approach with the wildlife and also learn about plants and the environments of the Pantanal.

Afternoon

After lunch, you will go with your guide for your activity of the afternoon: Sport Fishing! Protected by special national legislation where it is only allowed to "catch and release" fish, the Rio Negro (Black River) is home to a wide variety of species of fish such as Pintados, Dourados, Piraputangas, Piaus, Pacus, Piranhas, and others. In this tour, excitement and fun are guaranteed as you sail the beautiful waters of the Pantanal!

Day 5 BIRD WATCHING TOUR, DEPARTURE

Morning

Early in the morning, you can enjoy a Bird Watching tour with your guide.
This tour takes place in the early morning, where you will embark on foot or by motor boat to discover bird life. The expert guides of the hotel will assist in finding and identifying an enormous amount of species that roam the Pantanal daily, as the Pantanal is recognized as being one of the best destinations for Bird watching on the planet! In the hotel library there are a number of guides and Ornithological literature to assist and guide you in the identification and observation of the many bird species.
Check out at 10 am. Private transfer back to the Campo Grande Airport.
